About Kicheko

Meaning “laughter,” in Swahili, Kicheko Goods is a social impact jewelry brand founded in 2014 by Sarah Bayot. Each piece of jewelry funds one month of school for one child. Concepts for the brand’s small batch collections are inspired by geometry, nature, creative conversations and travel. Kicheko's aesthetic shares an unrefined boldness, sophisticated earthiness and playful simplicity. All pieces from Kicheko's collections are designed in D.C., made locally and with a network of small manufacturers and special artisan partnerships from around the world.

About the Founder

Moving to Washington, D.C. for college in 2003, Sarah still calls the District home. Known for her big smile, love of deep thoughts and conversations, and eclectic range of interests, Sarah loves exploring the city, a good glass of wine, Italian food, and travel. With a Masters in International Affairs & Development, extensive volunteer experience abroad, and a love of art + social impact businesses, Kicheko grew from a side hustle project to a full-fledged social impact brand.
