As we wrap up another year at KALEIDOS, I’ve been sitting with so much gratitude. If you’ve been with us from the very beginning or you just found our little hidden studio this year — thank you. Truly. Every purchase, every kind word, every share, every DM, every unexpected pop-in on a Saturday… it all matters so deeply. You’ve helped shape this space into something far bigger than a shop. It has become a community, a refuge, a creative ecosystem that feels alive because of you.

When I first started KALEIDOS, I had no idea what journey it would take me on. It was born out of a desire to create during a time in my life when I felt unable to. Over the years it has shifted, grown, stretched, and taken new forms — sometimes in ways I expected, often in ways I didn’t. But one thing has stayed true through every season: KALEIDOS has always been a place for me to create, to curate, and to build the kind of community I never imagined I’d one day be surrounded by. You’ve helped make that real.

This was our first year hosting Open Studios every single Saturday — all year long. When we moved into our 3rd-floor studio back in 2018, it was meant to be an office for our online shop. We never intended it to become a public-facing space. But your curiosity changed the trajectory. So many of you asked, “Can we come visit?” “Are you open?” “Do you ever do in-person shopping?” And slowly but surely, those questions became doors open, music playing, and a studio transformed by your presence. For a tucked-away spot with no street-level foot traffic, this milestone still feels surreal.

Thanks to your continued support, we saw an almost 50% increase in sales this year — a number that represents thousands of small moments of intention, connection, and trust. We also celebrated 10 years of KALEIDOS in May, which feels both monumental and tender. A whole decade. Looking back at the early days and then standing here in this studio now, I’m overwhelmed by how far this little dream has carried me.

And one of the biggest gifts of this year has been the growth of our team. We’ve built slowly and intentionally — each member bringing their own light and strengths. They teach me daily: about leadership, patience, creativity, and trust. They challenge me in the best ways, support me in the hard moments, and remind me that KALEIDOS isn’t just mine anymore… it’s ours. I’m endlessly grateful for the heart and care they pour into our little studio, for the love they show our customers, and for the way they help me grow as a person and as a business owner. I’m so grateful for them, and for the way you’ve welcomed them as an essential part of the KALEIDOS experience.

This year was full of moments that filled our space with extra magic: being featured on FOX5 DC and WUSA9; hosting an intimate concert with the band Joseph; hosting a wellness and flower workshop; welcoming so many talented vendors, makers, and small businesses into our studio; and sharing countless cozy matcha and coffee pop-ups that brought new faces, familiar smiles, and that warm hum of community that fills the room in a way nothing else quite can.

As I look back, what stands out the most are not the numbers or the milestones, but the people — you and the team beside me. Thank you for choosing to shop small, for championing curated vintage, for embracing intentional goods, for showing up to our events, for cheering on this tiny hidden studio on the third floor of an office building. Thank you for creating this with us. KALEIDOS exists because you believe in what we’re building here: good vintage, good people, good vibes.
