Artist Spotlight: Kacie Williams
Here at KALEIDOS we are all about shining light on emerging creatives. Today we are so proud to introduce our first Artist Spotlight on Nashville-based singer/songwriter + graphic designer, Kacie Williams!
Kaleidos Monthly Mixtape!
I know this month is almost over, but better late than never, right? I am excited to finally kick this long awaited idea of sharing mixtapes via Spotify every month. As some of you may or may not know, I am a singer/songwriter... still am... just on a bit of an extended hiatus. Launching this shop has kept me pretty busy and kept my mind quite occupied for the meanwhile. However, I knew when the idea of KALEIDOS was coming into fruition it was very important to me to incorporate my love for music into the idea somehow. So I am happy to finally present to you KALEIDOS' very first mixtape! I've always loved discovering the new and up-and-coming... I find it so inspiring! The shop is my avenue to share with you a curated selection of all the amazingly talented up-and-coming independent designers / makers I've discovered, as well as the vintage finds I have personally picked for the shop. And now, this monthly mixtape is a space where I will be able to share with you my discoveries in music. I've also curated photos for some visual inspiration while listening to this month's mixtape! Meet the Maker: Tree Fairfax
One of my favorite aspects of being a shop owner is discovering emerging designers. I imagine its like a paleontologist unveiling a hidden fossil - it's the best feeling! Tree Fairfax was one of those gem of discoveries. I discovered her work back in November of last year and knew I had struck gold! I reached out to her about collaborating and I was ecstatic when she responded back with enthusiasm and excitement about working together. We scheduled a time to FaceTime so we could talk about ideas and inspirations. I was excited to find out that she was also based in Virginia. As we continued to talk, we bonded over our love for music and connected over our personal stories involving breast cancer. (Tree is currently fighting breast cancer and my mom is a breast cancer survivor). I immediately felt a kinship with her and I knew that this relationship was going to be a good one!
I finally got to meet Tree in person last weekend at a pop-up event in Georgetown, D.C. and she was just as warm, kind, and positive as she was in her emails. It is so exciting to support and work with such a lovely soul. I am excited to see her work stocked in more shops and to see her social media following grow.
Today is the last day of Tree's final chemo treatment, and I cannot think of a better day to launch our collaboration bag, the Luna!
** 10% of the proceeds of the sales from this collaboration bag will go towards the Susan G. Komen Foundation. Shop it HERE!

Meet the Maker: Sarah Bayot of Kicheko
I am thrilled to introduce my friend and first collaborator, Sarah Bayot of Kicheko. I met Sarah about a year or so ago through a mutual friend. It has been such a pleasure getting to know her, collaborate with her, and watch as her small business flourishes.
